Avoid “insufficient storage available” problem on Android | whatsapp | apps

Mostly, the android app users meet this “insufficient storage available” error in their mobile. Our mobile apps are basically running under internal memory, “insufficient storage available” mean that the mobile apps needs enough memory space to working properly. This bug occurs mostly in whatsapp, play store and high processing apps. The given suggestions may helpful to fix the bug.

Uninstall / Remove unwanted apps:
You should uninstall unwanted apps from your mobile, if your phone supports transferring apps to SD card then free up space on your phone. 
Steps for uninstall apps from your mobile:
  • Go to Settings
  • Apps
  • Choose Unwanted apps
  • Uninstall


Move apps from device to SD card:
By the help of some applications, you can easily move apps form installed in the device memory to the SD card. If you haven’t tried this yet, just make a try and see how much storage space you could save. Some applications on the app store needs root permission to move apps to SD card and some others doesn’t require root permission to move apps to SD card. You can these following apps to move your apps directly to SD card without rooting your device.

Clear the Cache:
Cache is a temporary storage area. That automatically download some cache files and store them in memory as required, but many apps forget to delete those files once they aren’t required by the app. Hence they keep on accumulating in the phone storage and this residual data also fills up the memory. This is the reason why many users keep facing phone memory low despite uninstalling many apps from their devices.
To clear the cache
  • Go to Settings
  • Apps
  • Choose an app which have Cache
  • Clear cache


Move Pictures and Large files in internal memory to the SD card:
Our mobile apps are running under internal memory so the mobile apps needs enough memory space to working properly. While on “insufficient storage available”, you have to free up your internal memory for sufficient memory space. To solve this, moving of pictures and large files in internal memory to the SD card is the best solution.

Compress Photos and Videos
Like photos, videos too take up a large space on your internal phone memory, hence you can also compress them and decompress when you need to use. Compressed photos and videos are occupying less memory than actual size.

Factory restore the device:

This is the last option which remains to free up phone memory and make it usable. Though this will   completely erase all your personal data and apps. Before restore your device, you should take a backup or move important files to any external device like pc, pendrives, CD/DVD.
